Due to a death in the family we inherited a house. On inspection, we realized that it required a significant investment to bring it up to market standards/market price. This would require a lot of time and work, so we investigated companies that buy houses ‘as is’. Four such companies were invited to tour the property. Brent Hough represented Starting Point Real Estate, and he was very nice to work with. He took notes and pictures and sent us an offer within one day. The offers that we received had a wide range from low to high. It was easy to narrow the field to two companies for serious consideration. Starting Point’s offer was reasonable after considering the average market prices of homes in the area and the investment needed as well as the real estate commission we’d have to pay for a sale. We also considered the amount of cash outlay needed just to keep a house running during renovation if we did the work (all utilities, real estate taxes, mortgage expense, etc). It just made sense! Jeff Garner (CEO) stopped by for an inspection and was also a pleasant person to work with. Starting Point wanted the house right away but allowed us some time to conduct an estate sale then pack up the unsold items for donation to charity. Angel Bradley was the prime contact point to handle sale details. She did such a great job that I promoted her to chief operating officer (did you get that Jeff?). All told, Starting Point staff made the entire process very easy on us during a difficult time for the family. I strongly recommend them to anyone who has a home to sell. Joe McCarthy December, 2017
